Sailor Moon and Sailor Scouts to Save Television Screens in July 2014

You’ve heard it here first, geeks and geekettes: Sailor Moon is coming back on the air! Our beloved moon princess, not to mention future Neo-Queen Serenity, and fellow sailor scouts were taken off the air (English dubbed version) in 2004 because DIC Entertainment’s contract pertaining to legal owning rights had expired in North America. That’s quite the shame considering that Sailor Moon: Super S , the fifth season, was never dubbed in English nor was aired in the Americas. Although, our cute and clueless 13-year-old moon warrior will be conquering hearts and evil again this upcoming summer in July 2014.

Synopsis:

Tsukino Usagi is a clumsy crybaby, but otherwise very cheerful 8th grade student. One day she meets a cat named Luna with a crescent moon on her head, and is transformed into the sailor-suited guardian of love and justice, Sailor Moon! As a chosen guardian of justice, Usagi has a mission…to find her comrades; to find the Phantom Silver Crystal; and protect the Princess. However, Queen Beryl of the Dark Kingdom also seeks the terrible power of the Silver Crystal, and sends her agents into the city where Usagi lives, triggering the start of a fierce battle.

Will Sailor Moon be able to find the other Sailor Guardians, and if she does, together can they find the Phantom Silver Crystal and protect the Princess?

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon

It’s quite obvious that some dramatic changes have been made to our newly named, “Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon”. The wardrobe, for one, is definitely more mature than the first few seasons. The look is most certainly more anime based, but the character design leans towards a more mature manga appearance. Shorter skirts, longer legs and the body parts are…developed and exposed.

The cast will be brand new, except for Mitsuishi Kotono, who will reclaim her title as the voice of Usagi Tsukino, more commonly known as Serena or Sailor Moon.

Sailor Moon Crystal will air on July 5th, 2014 at 7 p.m. in Japan, and will continue to air on the first and third Saturday of every month, the original time slot for previous seasons of Sailor Moon. The entirety of the original Sailor Moon series is now available, uncensored, in America via Hulu.
