Well, PopCap games, creators of Plants vs. Zombies have released the sequel to the popular game, Plants vs. Zombies 2. This game is now available for iOS users, but there’s a catch, it’s only available in Australia and New Zealand as of now. So, before all of you iPhans flood the App store, you should know that it isn’t available worldwide yet.

This is a soft release says the company to test the servers and other game content. The game doesn’t require internet to be played but the server testing is for the in-game online store and other features of the game. The folks at PopCap games want to make sure that the servers are ready to handle thousands of users at once.

As the Australian and New Zealand gamers will play the game and find out any issues, the team will make sure to update the game and fix any bugs within the game. The soft launch is a way to test the games stability and features. EA has done the same with their Real Racing 3 game earlier this year.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 is available for these two countries now but this is not the final product, so don’t worry if you don’t like something or have found out a bug because PopCap will definitely fix it before rolling it out worldwide.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 will be a free-to-play game unlike its the first titles which cost around $1. It will come out for iOS in the coming weeks, most probably on 18th June, followed by an Android version later this year. The new game will bring new maps, new plants and yeah! new Zombies. The core gameplay will still be the same that you love. You will still use your armies of plants to destroy hordes Zombies one after another.
