5 Best Apps for Killing Time

Still recovering from the final episode of How I Met Your Mother? I’m guessing you were appalled by it (like most of the known world). For everyone’s sake, I will try to steer clear from the TV show and share the five best apps for killing time. Whether you’re waiting for the bus or bored to tears, these apps are bound to bring a smile to your face.

Buzzfeed

Buzzfeed quizzes seem to be all the rage these days. Ellen DeGeneres talked about it on her show and took the Queen of Comedy quiz (she got Chelsea Handler, by the way) and Eric Stonestreet, who plays Cameron on Modern Family, even tweeted how addicting the Buzzfeed quizzes are. These personality quizzes are an eclectic bunch: Who Were You In A Past Life, Which “How I Met Your Mother” Character Are You (oops) and Which “Peanuts” Character Are You.

QuizUp

If you love trivia, you must love QuizUp. There are hundred of topics to choose from and with over 220,000 questions, you cannot be bored by this app! It’s just not possible. Best of all, QuizUp is absolutely free! You play and learn new things at the same time; how is this not bigger than Flappy Bird?

Heads Up!

Notice something familiar with the Heads Up! logo? Find those killer blue eyes strangely familiar? I’ll give you a hint. She’s a comedian  and the voice of Dory on Finding Nemo. Ellen DeGeneres (if that wasn’t clear enough) has been interviewing and playing games with her guests and it’s one of the show’s trademarks. The gameplay is simple: guess the word on the card that’s on your head from your friends’ clue before the timer goes off. The game proves to be a hit among families, friends, and even celebrities.

Best Heads Up! Moments: Owen Wilson, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lauren Graham and Robin Williams.

Wattpad

It’s never easy getting published. So where do writers go when they want exposure? Wattpad, of course. Who knows, your story earn you a book deal! After more than 19 million reads of Life’s a Witch on Wattpad, former magazine editor Brittany Geragotelis has signed a 3-book deal with Simon & Schuster to republish the book!

Wattpad is a paradise when it comes to young adult and fan fiction stories. If you’re a reader but not much of a writer, here are some stories you might enjoy. Swifties should check out A and D, a young adult romance inspired by hit song, You Belong with Me. Scratch that, even if you’re not a fan of Taylor Swift, you will still be able to enjoy it. Other noteworthy mentions: All I’ve Never Wanted, Surviving the McLane Brothers, The Bachelor, The Amanda Project and Baggage Claim.

Clean Master (Cleaner)

This is by far the dullest app in the list. But, I digress. Clean Master (Cleaner) was briefly mentioned in this article a few months back. I wrote about the app’s efficiencies and was pretty much gushing over how much I adore it. Reckon I couldn’t be more wrong? Well then, I should warn you that there are 100 million users who have my back on this one.

The next time you’re bored waiting for your friend, open Clean Master (Cleaner) on your phone to get rid of all the junk files! Delete cache and residual files and boost all apps running in the background. You’ll be surprised by the improved performance of your device. Using Clean Master (Cleaner) sure beats sending endless of text messages to order your friend to get a move on, isn’t it?
