Oscar Nominations 2018: The Complete List

Oscar nominations 2018

Nominations for the 90th annual Academy Awards were announced yesterday morning, which made my Twitter feed a lot of fun:

Here’s a rundown:  Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water is the most-nominated film, leading with 13 nominations. History was made when Rachel Morrison became the first woman ever nominated in Best Cinematography with Mudbound. Christopher Nolan’s war epic, Dunkirk, snagged 8 nominations, including best picture, director, and cinematography. There were many of the usual names you see this time of year (Meryl Streep, Denzel). But I was personally happy to see underdogs Jordan Peele with Get Out and Kumail Nanjiani and his wife, Emily V. Gordon with The Big Sick get some major love from the Academy. Also, I think Chrissy Teigen was talking about Three Billboards in that tweet above (and I agree). One more thing – what was with Wonder Woman not getting any love?

While the nominations were kind of easy to predict, it’s really hard to say who the clear front-runners are to win. Jimmy Kimmel will return for his second time hosting the Academy Awards, which will broadcast live on ABC on Sunday, March 4. For the first time in a long time, I’m excited.

Here’s the full list of nominees:
