Nokia CEO Stephen Elop Throws an iPhone on Live TV

Nokia’s Chief is not a man to mess with, he is a serious man on a mission to take Nokia to the top where it used to be in the past. He doesn’t like any other device than Nokia, apparently he hates iPhone so much that he picked up one on a live TV show and threw it on the ground while calling it “embarrassing”.

Nokia ceo stephen elop

During a live interview on Finnish TV show, Elop was presented with an iPhone. The TV anchor took an iPhone out of his pocket and showed it to Elop, telling him that he wants to get rid of the iPhone and get a Nokia device instead. This is where my favorite part comes up: Stephen Elop takes the anchor’s iPhone and throws it to the ground without any mercy. You can clearly hear the phone slamming onto the hard floor. We are pretty sure the glass cracked or at the very least, the device sustained serious damages from the throw. Check out the brutal throw in the video below.

Right before the throw, Elop cunningly dodged questions about the upcoming Nokia Lumia 928, which reportedly will be an exclusive to Verizon in the U.S. Even though the anchor was pretty persistent asking about the device, Elop kept tight-lipped about any details. Although, he didn’t deny the existence of the device either, so there’s probably something to it.

Some may think that Stephen Elop’s action was childish, but we (mostly I) on the other hand, think it’s a pretty bold move. He had the balls to throw a rival device on live TV. Although, he also has to knock iPhone down from its high horse, and beat it with the next Lumia device.

Apple’s iPhone doesn’t have to worry about the Lumia yet, because it has much fierce competition to lookout for like the HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4.

Do you think what Elop did was wrong? I personally liked what he did but we want your opinion. Let us know.
