New Information Regarding ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’
New Information on the Film
Some new information has been released about Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the upcoming Harry Potter universe film. The three films are going to be shot at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, in Southeastern England, the same studio where all the Harry Potter movies were filmed. This is a good sign seeing as they aren’t messing with the formula and facilities that worked wonderfully for the previous Harry Potter films. Warner Brothers also stated that they are going to expand the complex, with three new stages and the addition of 100,000 square feet of space for offices and technical facilities. Whether the expansion is connected to the production of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them or not is unclear, but with the expansion this means that the team has the facilities and resources to produce a quality film, whether they will be used to their potential is the million dollar question.
The trilogy of films, looks like film trilogies are all the rage now, will be set in the United States, around seventy years before the main Harry Potter series. The films will be, unsurprisingly, focused on Newt Scamander, a magical creatures expert and author of the book the film series is named after. The script will be written by J.K Rowling, the woman behind the entire wizarding world of Harry Potter. This will be her first time writing a screenplay, but hopefully she will be able to channel her writing skill into an amazing script. David Heyman, the producer for all of the Harry Potter films, will also be involved in the films, in what way has not been confirmed. With these guys behind the writing and, hopefully, technical parts of the film, the chances are better that Fantastic Beasts will be a decent film and not some random knock off the original series, but of course nothing is set in stone.
Still A Lot Shrouded in Mystery
Still, there isn’t much information that has been revealed about this movie as of yet. Nothing about the director or the cast, which is probably still in development or not released to the public yet. With the release date for the first of the three films in November 2016, both could be the case which sadly means that there might be a long wait until we know anything about the director or cast. However with the little details we know so far, there is a lot of potential for this movie to be something really unique and fantastic. Of course this goes both ways, as this movie has little literary basis unlike the original series, this is also the first time Rowling has written a screenplay which is all together a different beast, pun intended, from a novel. Still it is anyone’s guess on how the trilogy will pan out, so here’s to hoping.
