Iron Man 3 Round-Up

“Sorry, No Avengers”, “It’s Not a Serious Movie” & More

Everyone has been anticipating the latest Iron Man addition to the ever famous franchise so the latest news revolving around it has fans itching to hear more. Forget about reading various news and several articles about Iron Man 3 – this post covers them all.

Iron Man 3 is to be released next year, May 03, 2013. Will fans be able to see a cameo of the almighty Avengers? Will Nick Fury be there? Is it as dark as it looks like? Will villains be too diabolical? This post gives you the most controversial news about Iron Man 3.

If you’re not yet familiar with the plot of the Iron Man 3 film, get out of that rock you’re living in! Here’s the gist of it, according to Marvel:

“Iron Man 3 pits brash-but-brilliant industrialist Tony Stark/Iron Man against an enemy whose reach knows no bounds. When Stark finds his personal world destroyed at his enemy’s hands, he embarks on a harrowing quest to find those responsible. This journey, at every turn, will test his mettle. With his back against the wall, Stark is left to survive by his own devices, relying on his ingenuity and instincts to protect those closest to him…”

Director and co-writer Shane Black and producer Kevin Feige both give their insights on the film’s tone. Despite the dark theme that the Iron Man 3 trailer has adapted, Feige comes out and says that Iron Man 3 “is not a serious movie” – it merely aims to “explore more of Tony”. Well, that’s a relief. We know we voice out the thoughts of the Iron Man franchise when we say that a Tony Stark without the humor is like Iron Man without the Arc Reactor: it’s just another plain lifeless character.

While Iron Man fans are rejoicing about the news of Iron Man 3, hardcore The Avengers fans aren’t too happy about one of its bits of news – Sam Jackson, who plays Nick Fury, had this to say in an interview: “I think my next time as Nick Fury is in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, because I’m not in Iron Man 3. None of the Avengers are in Iron Man 3. It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.”

Sorry, fans, it looks like you won’t be having your daily fix of Captain America or Thor during the Iron Man 3 movie. No Black Widow for you, too, guys.

Hey, at least Iron Man 3 fans have another reason to look forward to seeing the film: director Shane Black promises a “gritty, intense kind of techno-thriller” transition of events for the Iron Man 3. It seems like he based his direction of the film on the scene on The Avengers where Iron Man returns to Earth after braving through the inter-dimensional skyhole made by bloodthirsty aliens.

Robert Downey Jr. joined the building of the excitement by adding that they feel that Iron Man 3 is the right movie with the right people and the right director. We do hope so, as well!

With all the latest news sprouting, Iron Man fans are eager to watch the movie next year. We’re just hoping for it to be as spectacular as various sources make it out to be – after all, we all want to have our money’s worth.

Are you watching Iron Man 3 next year?

  1. Some say… another iron man? I say right on! I’ve enjoyed the first two and can’t wait to see the third. I always enjoy comics when they go to the big screen. I’m even behind the newest spider man and batman I still have to watch them.

    1. Hi Brian! Thanks for visiting Geek Magazine and thanks for commenting! I know the feeling – Iron Man movies may be considered overrated by some, but I still think it entertains me, so I’ll keep on watching them.

  2. I’m excited about movie too. They’ve done a good job with the other two, so I’m sure that this new one will be awesome. I wasn’t too impressed with the newest spider man and think that they’ve just over done that franchise a bit. Thanks for the reminder, I do need to check out the latest batman though.

    1. Honestly, I haven’t watched the latest Spiderman movie yet. Thank you for the reminder as well, Rhett! 😀
