Facebook’s iOS Messenger App – Say Hello
Ever wanted to call the person you’ve been passively saying hello to on Facebook? And for free? Well according to a report by the BBC, it looks like FB’s iOS messenger app will allow free app to app calling between iPhones in the US.

The calling service will work with WI-FI networks as well as 3G and 4G/LTE cellular data. This service has nothing to do with Facebook’s integrated Skype access, it’s a brand new free stalking service from Mark Zuckerberg and co. Which will be available exclusively for the time being on the iOS official Facebook app.
The value of this service is readily apparent, even for non stalkers, as heavy talkers and Tweens can finally get a break from those expensive monthly voice bills. But it does have its limitations; it can only work with people who are on your friend list and online; and they also need to have the same exact app installed on their iPhones.

Android and Blackberry Versions on the Way
Calls cannot be made to pals logged in via the actual website, even the mobile version of the site; and no land line calling allowed either. Once all these conditions have been met, all that needs to be done is to click a small “I” button at the app’s upper right corner, and select the “Free Call” option.

Facebook has stated that an Android and Blackberry versions of the feature are already in the works, but no word yet on their release dates. It’d also be nice to know if this feature will ever go worldwide, or remain a feature exclusive to the States.
