Recap S2 Part II
Here is the continuing saga of The Walking Dead: Recap Season 2. I will start exactly where I left off.

When Andrea and Shane return, Dale confronts Shane and says that he knows that he killed Otis and that he would kill Rick if given the chance. Shane threatens Dale, who backs off, but he keeps his eye on him. Lori swallows the morning after pills but throws them back up, deciding to keep the baby. Rick finds her and is furious, obviously. She tells him about her and Shane, but he already knew. The next day, Glen tells everyone that the barn is full of zombies.

The others inspect it and are furious with Hershel. When Rick confronts Hershel about the barn, he in turn tells Rick to leave with his group by the end of the week. Check, mate. Rick agrees to live by his rules and Hershel leads him into the swamp to get two zombies who are stuck in the mud and take them back to the barn. When Shane sees Rick and Hershel coming back with zombies he goes crazy. He shoots the zombies in the head, breaks open the barn, and Shane and the others begin shooting the zombies one by one as they file out of the barn. But here is the kicker; the last zombie to walk out of the barn is none other than Sophia. Carol tries to run for her but is held back by Daryl. Rick is the one to kill her.
After the massacre, the survivors are shaken. They agree to bury the people that they knew and burn the others. Hershel tells them that they have to leave his farm, and Maggie wants Glen to stay. Alone in his room, Hershel goes through his belongings and finds a flask. He goes off by himself to a local bar. At the farm Beth goes into shock, having seen her mother and step brother get shot (they were also zombies in the barn). Because Hershel is gone, Maggie tries to soothe Beth herself.
Rick and Glen go after Hershel who they know is at an abandoned bar in town. After having a heart to heart with Hershel, they agree to leave but two people walk into the bar. They talk to them for a while and they tell Rick that they have been travelling for a while with a group of people. When they ask where Rick and the others are staying, Rick tells them that they are staying on a farm. When the two men ask if Rick can lead them there, Rick tells them no. One of them tries to shoot Rick, but Rick shoots them both first. Rick, Glen and Hershel try to leave, but a car full of people pull up looking for the two men that just walked in the bar. The two men that Rick shot.
Lori who has gone out to try and find Rick, by herself, hits a walker and crashes. She is knocked unconscious. A zombie is trying to make his way into the car with Lori when she wakes up and she fights her way out of the car, killing the two zombies that tried to attack her. At the farm, Shane realizes that Lori is gone and goes after her, finding her walking on the side of the road looking for Rick.
Rick, Glen, and Hershel are hiding in the bar when they try to enter the door. Glen throws his body in front of the door to keep them out, so Rick is forced to tell them that he shot them because they fired on them first. They immediately open fire on Rick, Glen, and Hershel. After exchanging gun fire, the intruders say that they have to leave, because zombies are coming. Rick, Glen and Hershel try to make it to their car only to be stopped by the site of one of the intruders stuck on a fence. His people have left him there to die. Rick says that they can’t leave him behind and rip his leg from the fence. Rick returns back to the farm with Glen and Hershel as well as the intruder, Randal, at the bar. Shane and Lori also have returned.
Lori tells Rick that Shane believes the baby is his. Rick and Lori agree that something needs to be done about Shane because he is dangerous.
Rick and Shane go out to leave Randal at a nearby building. On the way Shane and Rick get into it, Shane accusing Rick of not being strong enough to take care of his own family. They leave Randal at an abandoned building with a knife and walk away. Randal pleas with them, begging them not to leave him. He then makes the fatal mistake of saying that he knows Maggie. Meaning he knows where the farm is located. Meaning he has to die, according to Shane. Shane and Rick fight over a gun and eventually come to blows.
During their fight, zombies from the inside of the building begin pouring out. Back at the farm, Beth has considered suicide and wants Maggie to die with her. Andrea tells the others that they should let her decide if she wants to live or not. While she is watching Beth, she hands her a knife and walks out of the room. Rick and Shane barely make it out alive, taking Randal back to camp with them. Rick admits that he will more than likely kill him but he has to think it over.
Beth tries to commit suicide unsuccessfully and Andrea says that Beth made her choice to live. Back at the farm the rest of the group agree that Randal is dangerous and that he must be killed. They lock him up in the barn. Carl sneaks in and tries to talk to him when Shane and Andrea notice him. Shane pulls him out and asks if he wants to get killed and never to go in there again. Carl runs off. He finds a gun in Daryl’s motorcycle bag and wonders off into the woods where he encounters a zombie stuck in the mud. He amuses himself by throwing rocks at it until it budges free and comes after him.
Instead of shooting him, he runs off (like the little girl he is). Back at the farm Dale is trying to convince everyone that they should let Randal go and not kill him but they do not all agree. They decide to kill him and when they go into the barn that night to shoot him, Carl walks in and urges Rick to shoot him in the head, which makes Rick think twice about if this is the message he wants to give to his son. The death has been postponed, yet again.
Dale has gone out to investigate a sound which he believes to be a dying cow. He is attacked by a zombie (the same one that Carl didn’t shoot in the woods earlier) and is literally ripped apart. They hear Dale’s screams back at the farm and run to help him but it is too late. Darryl kills the zombie, but there is no saving Dale. They shoot him in the head to put him out of his misery. Rick decides to set Randal free the next day in order to honor Dale. Shane, who has other plans, goes into the barn and retrieves Randal, leading him into the woods.
When T-Dog and the others go to get him, they notice that his gone and un-cuffed, thinking that he escaped somehow. Shane takes Randal deeper into the forest and breaks his neck. He then breaks his own nose against a tree and returns to the farm telling everyone that Randal escaped with a gun after beating him up. They make a search party to go and find him in the woods; Shane with Rick, and Glen with Daryl. Shane draws Rick deeper into the forest, the whole time being questioned by Rick.
Rick eventually realizes what is going on. He knows that Shane is going to try and kill him. They fight and Rick over powers Shane and stabs him. Carl soon after shows up and draws his gun on a reanimated Shane behind Rick and fires. What we soon learn is that Carl’s shot has attracted the attention of a large zombie heard and they are now making their way to the farm.
They are making their way back to the farmhouse when they notice the heard behind them. Rick and Carl begin running towards the farm. Glen and Daryl have made it back to the farm letting them know that Randal is a walker and they have not seen Rick or Shane. Rick and Carl make it to the barn where zombies have followed them and they set the barn on fire. Jimmy, seeing the fire and realizing it must be Rick, pulls up to the barn and Carl and Rick jump on its roof to escape the zombies.
However, Jimmy is overrun by zombies inside and is killed. Lori, Carol, Patricia, Maggie, and Beth go to leave calling for Hershel to follow them. Patricia is taken down by zombies as they try to escape. Hershel is still firing away at zombies, refusing to leave the farm. T-Dog, Beth and Lori make it out of the farm by truck. Daryl saves Carol on his motorcycle as they leave. Maggie and Glen leave by SUV. Rick and Carl find Hershel and ask where the others are. They agree to leave and hope to meet up with everyone else.
The others, believing that Andrea is dead, drive away from the farm, leaving her behind. She runs off with a bag of guns on her into the woods. They reunite on the same highway from the first episode of the second season, where they first lost Sophia. All reunite except for Andrea (who is actually alive but they believe to be dead), Shane (dead), Patricia (dead), and Jimmy (dead).

They drive for a while and then camp on the side of the road, Ricks orders, after running out of gas. When the group tells him that isn’t a good idea he tells them that they are all infected with the disease and that no matter what, they all will eventually turn. The group begins to question Rick’s leadership skills and he tells them that he killed Shane to protect the group. He’s fed up with the group forcing his hand so he says that from now on things are going to be his way. Meanwhile in the woods, Andrea is still running away from zombies, she’s exhausted and trips up. She’s two seconds away from being bitten when a dark figure appears and decapitates the zombie.
And that’s the end of season 2! Long recap I know, but it was almost 13 hours of quality footage that I had to let everyone know about. Stick around for season 3.
