Samsung: Sneak Peeks, Smart TV, ChatON 2.0 and Smart Hub

Samsung fans can expect much more than anticipated at the CES 2013. The tech company has been keeping fans on the edge of their seats during Christmas, and will continue through to New Years. Several announcements and teasers like a CES 2013 Smart TV teaser video, a sneak peek at its Smart Hub, a content platform for Samsung Smart TV, and a new version of ChatON.

ChatON 2.0

Samsung ChatON 2.0

Samsung’s cross-platform messaging app launched last year on the Android market. It was Samsung’s way of killing off SMS, allowing users to either communicate via the platforms app or by simply using a web browser.

With ChatON 2.0, it seems Samsung is positioning the service, being made available in over 200 countries in 60 languages, as a “micro” social networking platform. Users can create personal profiles and post status updates as well, for friends to comment on.

The new version will make it easier for users to leave comments or content, which includes photos and videos for their friends in “the Trunk”. The new version has a multiscreen feature that will allow users to chat with up to five connected devices on a single account.

Smart Hub

With the all new Smart Hub’s updated home screen, users will be able to watch live broadcasts and movies while using apps and looking at personal photos all at the same time. Samsung says that Smart Hub will offer a “more intuitive experience with various contents”, such as live TV broadcasts, VOD, apps and internet as well. The new Smart Hub will come with a “Flipping” function, allowing users to ‘flip’ through five screens like a book.

Smart TV Teaser

Samsung’s newest innovative Smart TV will be introduced at CES in January, but for now they have a teaser video to get fans excited. There is no doubt that Samsung wants its users to try out ChatON 2.0, and the new Smart Hub on the next Smart TV.
